Question New here with many questions. would love help

Hi everyone. I have been thinking of going to school to be an RN for a while now but I dont feel it fits in to my life right now. so what I want to do is go to school to be an lvn. I was wondering if anyone knows of any private schools in northern california. Also are they accepted when you apply for jobs? I have been out of high school for 2 years and have not done any classes in college. so i was thinking it would be best for me to do school through a private, since it is faster and i dont need the extra classes first. am i right about this? i have been trying to search for information online but it is so hard to find information relevant to where i live. and i dont have anyone that i can ask ?'s so i am coming to you guys for help on this one. i am going to be going to an open house for the nursing program at mjc in a couple of weeks to get more info, but i would like to get a better knowledge before then as well. I would really like to get started asap. thanks for any help anyone could give me.

Hey there Jess- I reallly cannot help you specifically but I bet you will get alot of answers at that open house. Another idea is to get on the web site for the Board of Nursing in your area (you can just put it in your "search" if you don't the name for sure) and email someone from that site. I have gotten help from people at the Georgia Board of Nursing as well as North Carolina. (I now have my LPN licenses in both states) Another idea might be to go to your local hospital and talk to the Director of Nursing there or wherever you are considering working.......they can give you ideas as well. Just don't take information from just one source. Your state Board would be where I go first- that is what I did before I even left Florida as an LPN......it is terrific having a computer (smile). Praying everything goes well for you and don't let anyone get you down.
God bless you and yours.
in Him,
Andrea

ok , there are lots of options for lvn in the sacramento area, where i am from. Unfortunatly this would be a big drive for you.
you can't get your lvn online. Is there any jr colleges in the area, they should offer the lvn program.
