NCLEX-PN review

I know i probably don't belong here but i had to do this for my loved one. I am an aspiring medical student but my mom just graduated from the LPN course from a community college in NC.

she took the NCLEX-PN about 2 weeks ago after studying for about 2 months independently, but unfortunately, she didn't pass. Since then, she hasn't been the same. I tried talking her into taking a prep course, but unfortunately for me I haven't had any luck in finding in-class NCLEX-PN review.

She told me she used the ATI online package while studying by herself but didn't seem to work.

My question is do you know how I can find an in-class review course in my area (durham, NC) for her to attend. She seems to get really nervous during exam condition. I have tried calling kaplan, princeton or any other prep course program that i know but none has something to offer.

I wouldn't mind a private tutor either. Any contact info, response, sites address will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello, A_funsho,

Try these links and wish her luck. You should tell her about us and have her log on for assistance. I think she would benefit.

Re: NCLEX-PN review

Is your mother a good independent learner? Or does she need to be instructed in a classroom-style setting?

If your mother is a decent independent scholar, she would probably benefit from having the NCLEX-PN review books that were authored by Linda Anne Silvestri. I know of people who failed the NCLEX-PN on the first attempt and then proceeded to read the entire Silvestri book anywhere from one to three times. Guess what? They passed on the second try. The Silvestri book can be found at any local Borders book store or Barnes and Noble if not online at Amazon.

If your mom prefers a classroom review, then doesn't her school offer review classes to the graduates? My school offered a free four-day NCLEX review to all graduates, but I declined the invitation.
