Lvn considering BS in healthcare Mgmt.

Hi All,

I live in southern california and Iam an Lvn. I have been in this profession for about six months and I have come to the conclusion that I don't want to do patient care any more. I currently work for a pediatric Home Health Agency. I like my job it's not stressfull, and I knew I certainly did not want to work in a hospital or convalesant facility. I have gone back and forth with the Idea of getting my Rn .I want to I don't want to its getting ridiculous. I will be 24 this month, and I feel I have to do something quick with furthering my education. I have been looking into maybe Healthcare Mgmt or administration. I like business and I think maybe that could be an avenue. I don't know what to do, But whatever I do, I want to be assured that I can find a job when I come out of school. Any thoughts on a career in Healthcare Mgmt/ Administration ( jobs, salary ) Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you want to break into management, it might be a good career move to pursue a master's degree in nursing.

I know you don't really want to become an RN, but earning an MSN degree would be the most solid way to become a manager and comfortably earn in the $80,000 to $100,000 range.

Also, I know an RN who has a BSN and an MBA (master's degree in business). She manages the occupational health clinic and the human resources office at a major corporation.
