I would say you all have it good. I work in south west TN and on 11-7 shift I have 72 residents and 3 cna's on a good night. On a typical night it is me and 2 cna's. My salary is $13.85/hr which includes .50 shift diff. All of this with 18 yrs of nursing experience under my belt. Since joining ALLNURSES.COM I believe I need to rethink where I work and where I live. Thanks every one for letting me vent, last night was a bad night. One cna and me which included a fall, a death and shipping one out to the hospital. We got through the shift, and was I glad to see 7 am. thanks again.
OMG, I can't imagine trying to pass meds and administer treatments for 72 residents.
