LPN School Nurse?

Hello, I was wondering does anybody know of any schools, (elementary, middle, or high) that hire LPN's as school nurses. I live in Richmond, Va and would be more than happy to know of any in Richmond or the surrounding areas. Thank You

Re: LPN School Nurse?

I know Head Start (the low income preschool program) does. I use to be a teacher, before going to nursing school. Our school nurse was an LPN. I don't know about VA, but PA Head Start's will hire an LPN as the school nurse.
Good luck,
Marci

Re: LPN School Nurse?

I live in Richmond,Va too. Yes, the city of richmond and surrounding counties do hire lpn's as a school nurse. It is hard to get a job as a school nurse though because the current nurses usually dont leave. Check the school websites like www.pen.k12.va.us I think this website covers all openings in schools for all counties in virginia. HTH
