Just Graduated LVN School... How do I study for Nclex?

Hello, I just graduated the LVN program on August 31st and I just wanted to know how I should study the NCLEX-PN. How long do you guys usually wait to take the boards? 1-2 months? I'm planning to take it on Oct/Nov. How do I study for it? I Have Saunders,Lippicots, Kaplans and Cram Exam review books, Plus I have the ERI. I'm not the greatest test taker as well so i'm really scared. I have the biggest feeling I'm going to fail. What are some good Strategies before taking this test? I'm so scared!

Congrat's on graduating.
Some people do the Kaplan Review course. I bought 2 NCLEX review books and answered as many questions as possible. Don't delay on taking the exam. I gave myself a max of 2 months to review. Good Luck!

You will get all kinds of suggestions. This is what helped me. Saunder's and Exam Cram II PN. I found the 2nd good for getting you prepared for the way the questions are asked.
Don't wait too long. Study, understand the topics and go for it!
Good luck!

Re: Just Graduated LVN School... How do I study for Nclex?

There are so many books out there. The best thing is to find one that you enjoy reading and read it. I used NCLEX-PN Made Incredibly Easy. I also did test questions from Saunders and Kaplan and th learning ext. online.

No matter how many questions you do, make sure to read the rationale. You will not find questions on nclex to be exactly like any thing you have, but if you understand the rationale, it will be so much easier to answer the questions on nclex.

Take the exam within 3 months, as they say that if you wait too long, you may forget what you learned in school.

I used Exam Cram and the Chicago Press NCLEX books. Just do the questions, use the Exam Cram disc, and most of all, breathe! You will do fine. Just study what you don't know. Review what you do know. You will be fine.
