Job Duties of LPN in doctors office

Hello,
I'm am wanting to start school this fall. I am looking at LPN. Can anyone tell me what the job duties are for a LPN that works in a doctors office. I don't really want to work in a nursing home or a long term care facility. I would appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

Hi!

I am an LPN, and I work in an office. I work in an OB/Gyn practice, and I absolutely love my job!!!!! I have Been with the practice for almost four years, and I never want to leave.

The things I enjoy about my job are:
I have a great boss.
All my patients are women, so I can find at least one thing in common with them.
I get to know my patients as individuals, even if we only see them once a year for their Annual Exam.

The main Downfalls to an office job are that they tend to pay less, and the hours can run late. But, no Holidays, or weekends.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

I currently work Labor & Delivery but I worked in a clinic a few years ago. I have worked Family Practice and Urgent Care. My duties were: vital signs, EKG's, nebulizer treatments, set-up and assist with minor surgeries (mole removal, ingrown toenails, cysts), injections, suture removal, IV's, blood draws, splinting/wrapping injuries etc... I loved it. I learned alot when I worked in the clinic.

I work for a plastic surgeon....I assist him in the office, with surgery . We are a small office, doctor, office manager ,OR coordinator,biller,...and I am his only nurse.
I run the medical rooms....deal with pathology that needs to be send out....plus all the goodies that go with dealing with a Plastic Surgeon
Great job!
This is my first office job....I worked in a hospital and did home care for 10 years.....

This is my niche.......Plastic Surgery! it is a great specialty field to get involved with.....

Plus i get free perks that go along ,with working for a Plastic Surgeon

Take care,
Annor
