Inservice points?

I have heard they instated this policy, I dont know if its just in NJ or all over, that you have to get 30 points of educational inservice to be able to renew your license when it expires. Has anyone else heard of this? where can you get these points? I heard there is a web site where you can get all your points for $40.00 online training, anyone know of the website?

You are referring to CEUs. They are required in some states for license renewal, but not in others. Check with your BON to verify the number of CEUs required to renew your license. If you work in a state that requires CEUs for renewal, your employer probably offers a number of inservices throughout the year that will help you to meet this requirement. Upon completion of such an inservice, you should receive a certificate stating your name and the number of CEUs awarded. Keep these in a safe place in case the BON requests verification of your CEUs.

There are also on-line CEU offerings and self-study programs which can be found in nursing journals.

You are very wise to begin to work on this requirement well in advance of renewal time!
