increased RN pay for prior LPN experience

I am an LPN and have been for 28 yrs and I am getting ready to graduate from an RN program. I was wondering if as an experience hospital LPN if hospitals give you more money for your years as an LPN over starting out at new grad pay. I heard that most hospitals will give you 1/2 of your yrs experience of LPN towards the RN experience pay scale.

Re: increased RN pay for prior LPN experience

yes most facilities do recognize your lpn experience by applying half of those lpn years to years of rn experience. Congratulations! i did the same thing, and it was the best move i could have made. all of those years of experience are really going to help you to ease into the rn role.

I would surely expect something above the new grad rate. Every thing is negotiable, lol. Congratulations on your graduation!

Thanks, I can't wait to see the bigger paycheck! I still have to take my boards but it won't be long.
