Unhappy I stoped at 85 guestion, am I so dump it cut off at the minimum?

I mean am I so dump that it wouldn't let me go on to show that I do know some things. I had a 93% average in school and studied really hard for the exam. ( not that any of the things I studied was on there. I had what I thought to be a difficult NCLEX-PN exam today. Some questions were really dump. I had alot of priority questions, but some where just dump. With all we know about the computer cutting off at the minimum of 85. What would you say my percentage of passing is?
Please share with me what you all think, I have over a week before I will know for sure.

When I took mine a few years ago it cut off at 85 and I passed. I think you either did really good or really bad. Good Luck!

Re: I stoped at 85 guestion, am I so dump it cut off at the minimum?

AmyMarie....welcome to allnurses!

I took PN Boards when it was an all-day, pencil/paper deal. Waaaay back in 1987. Waited 6 weeks for results. The vast majority of PN computer testers who got 85 questions have passed. Of course, no test is the same.

BTW......minimum # of questions for an RN is 75. Thank heavens I never have to take boards again! I felt like I totally tanked.....

I also took my test and stopped at 85, this was in September. I thought I didn't pass. I had A LOT of priority questions, but I passed. Since California doesn't have quick results I had to wait 2 weeks for my letter. Good Luck!!! Im sure you passed:hatparty:

Thank you ajohnsonLVN, I hope you are right. I will let you know how it turns out. Your words have really helped, but the wait is a killer huh.

Just had a fellow nurse take her state boards and she said it stopped at 85 questions too!! She was able to look at her results online and found out that she passed!! Might want to check it out - you probably passed with flying colors too!!

I am sure you passed. Mine stopped at 88 and I passed. While in school the instructors told us that it does not matter when it stops, but after I took the exam and stopped at 88 they told me that I passed just by knowing how many questions you take. Great Job.....

Re: I stoped at 85 guestion, am I so dump it cut off at the minimum?

I stopped at the minimum 85 questions for LPN boards and the minimum 75 questions for RN boards.
Both times, I was sure that I failed. Both times, I was wrong.
I highly doubt that you could have done so well in school and still bomb the boards to the point where it shut off at the minimum.
You're just having post-NCLEX tramatic distress.
Remind yourself every day before you get your results that you've worked very hard in school and your grades reflect it. Now you need to show the state that you know what you're doing and you've done that!

Thanks for the confidence, I don't think the number you get means pass or fail either I just think that percentage wise getting 85 questions has high pass rate. Not that it eases my mind cause it still could mean I failed. Just like getting 205 could easily mean you passed. So I hope I am the part of that percentage that passes with the minimum question.
Thanks again, Amy
