I live 50 miles from town and I wanted to know if anyone has heard of having employers reimburse you for your mileage? I am about to attend LPN school and will be working at a nursing home after that. I know I am getting ahead of myself but I just wanted to know.
No employer will reimburse you for mileage for commuting to and from work, unless you work for a home health agency. I have lived up to 120 miles from my workplace, and never received a dime of gas or mileage reimbursement.
Employers strictly see it as a personal choice if you decide to commute and, therefore, they will not pay you anything extra because you happen to live farther from work than most of the other employees at your workplace.
