Considering LVN program, is this a good idea?

I go to Maric college in my town and next year they are starting a LVN program for the first time. Right now I am graduating from there medical assistant program and thought it would help me and so far it has. So my question is should I now go the LVN route and then after move out of my mother's home, get out on my own and plan my next move which is RN or BSN? I know this a personal choice but if you were in my situation what would you do?

What exactly is your situation? Do you have children are you married do you have a lot of debt how is your gpa is it hard to get into RN or BSN programs in your area? If the answer to all of those is no then I'd go straight for RN or BSN. If you have kids, a lower GPA, or some other reason why being a full time student would be hard then you might want to try LPN. If the program won't be up and running for another year though I might look into how quickly you can get into an RN or BSN program- you might be half way done by the time the LPN program is up and running.

I would do which ever pays better as you work toward your ADN since getting out on your own is a goal. Good luck!
