Re: challenge rn boards

Hi,
No you can't challenge the RN boards. I'm a new grad who did the LPN to ADN bridge program and while it isn't insulting to me at all because I'm sure you have more knowledge than any of the brand new RNs that haven't ever worked but imo its one of those things where you have to pay your dues when it comes to licenses and academia. The bridge programs really aren't that difficult, imo, mine was a short summer bridge class and then 2 semesters that cost less than $3,000. We all have the opportunity to find a decent paying job as LPNs, even if it isn't our first choice, that will work around school hours for that short amount of time so I think it is doable if you are interested. Good luck! Jules

Re: challenge rn boards

You cannot challenge the RN boards anywhere in the US, even though you'd probably be able to pass the NCLEX-RN with your knowledge and accrued experience.

However, you don't know what you don't know. Only LPNs with years of extensive work experience seem to think that challenging the boards is a good idea. The rest of us see things differently. There's no good reason not to attend an LPN-to-RN bridge program, because there's a high probability you'd learn something new. Formal education is actually a good thing.
