I wasn't a big fan of Strawberry Shortcake, but I did have some barbies in a suitcase under my bed with tons of clothes. I would pull them out and make the suitcases into a house for them!

I also had a kitchen set in the garage with a table and all and I would serve imaginary people all the time.

I had three cabbage patch dolls and a pound puppy but didn't play with them much after all that begging to get them! LOL!

Ah, sweet memories............
My all time favorite toy was Jane West. She was this hard plastic cowgirl that bendable arms and legs... elbows and knees too and she had this wonderful tan and white horse. She and I spent hours "riding the dusty trail" on my front porch. I had all the barbies but thought they were too pretty to play with. Chatty Kathy and Thumbilina were my doll babies of choice and I still have Thumbilina (40 years later!) My favorite games were Candy land and Tippit. Tippit was a bribe to go to the dentist and behave! If you don't know or don't remember Tippit, You had a stand with 3 arms and you balanced the arms on the stand. On the arms were pegs where you stacked chips and then you spin tippit around... gently and whichever stopped in front of you, you had to remove a chip with a forked spatula like thing. If you didn't tip over the 3 armed thingy off the stand the game kept going.... great to play alone or with others. We as a group played Mousetrap alot too. And I can't forget Mrs. Beasley! Ahhh....

My transitor radio was an orange ball on a chain. I played it for hours and hours sitting on either the front porch or the picnic table listening to 3 Dog Night. FM wasn't even an option in those days. I also remember playing lots with pickup sticks. Never could do much with Jax ( those darn foursies...)

LOL!! This is the funniest thread! The very first toy I remember having was a "Monkees tamborine" (it had a Davy Jones picture on it!--LOL!) I was about 3 when I broke it, but I still remember it! I was born in the late sixties, so most of the toys I remember were from the seventies. Barbies, of course.. But I remember these very small versions of Barbies too. I inherited a whole case of them from my cousin. (A pink specialty case--I'm sure it dated back to the sixties)
I played outside alot-- jumprope, hula-hoops, jacks-- lots of running games. And I also had the "lemon twister" or whatever it was called, and for the poster who asked if they still make them, you'll be happy to know that they in fact do!! Now they no longer have a big ugly lemon on the end, I think they have different types, but here's the cool thing, the light up as you spin 'em around!! I saw one just last weekend at a friend's house (she has a 7 yr old girl). Still unsure about what they call them, but I tried it out and the big honkin' non-lemon thing hit me in the shin!! OUCH. So much for reliving my childhood, huh? This was a fun thread!

Anyone remember all the toys we had that are now illegal? Knockers? Yard Darts?
Those Knockers or Clackers were fun until they hit you up side the head! LOL.

my friend had a baby-alive" doll. (remembe those from the 80's) she had a special mix you could feed her and she would "poop" and you got to change her diapers. (why we thought this was awesome i have no idea now) anyway when the mix ran out we decided to feed her applesauce. SHE ROTTED! the smell ws so horrible she had to be tied up in 2 plastic bags and taken to the outsid dumpster.

Creepy Crawlers. Incredible Edibles, Battling Tops, watching "The Wizard of Oz" the first time it came on TV.
