What does Santa do at your house?

Do you have a limit for your kids, ie money or number of gifts? How do you distribute them? Does Santa do one gift while you do ten, etc?

I have very small children, so Santa is evolving at my house. Hubby had his traditions, I had mine while growing up and right now we are in Santa negotiations. I'll have to get back to you after the Santa Talks :Santa2:

We make sure to spend less than we would on their birthdays, cause Christmas is NOT their birthday, but the Lord's, is what we tell them. We are relatively tight-fisted at Christmas, and while we may not spend exactly the same amt on each kid (they are 7 years apart), we do stay close. I am quite cheap at Christmas. The kids hopefully will get this one day. Right now, it's just "gimme gimme gimme"....sigh.

Re: What does Santa do at your house?

LOL I have a real problem with Santa getting the credit for big nice expensive gifts..lol JK..Well what I do is give one big gift from Santa to all three little girls.. This year it is a HUGH stuffed dog.. Then I have about 24-25 gifts for the three little ones. The oldest gets $100-200 and the 13 year old gets some money and this year a stereo and that digi makeover thingy. I spend way to much every year....they are spoiled rotten...But I always said I would have big Christmas's because my parents could not afford it for me...

Re: What does Santa do at your house?

I have a few wrapped gifts for the kids under the tree from dh and I (GOTTA have presents to open on Christmas morning!!! Although, just because we couldn't STAND not opening any till then, my parents began a tradition of opening one's smallest present on Christmas Eve . . just to take the edge off. ).

On Christmas Eve, the stockings are placed in each child's strategic, predetermined area, and in the morning they are bulging with treats and small gifts from Santa, while unwrapped gifts from Santa surround the stockings.

It's all done with Santa-magic. (I believe; do you?? )

There are no gift from "Santa" under the tree except for Pajama's or gift for each other....on Christmas morning, "Santa" leaves his bounty that he sneaked in during the night under the tree...and "Santa" doesn 't have time to wrap..oh no! Lots of bows and ribbons though.

Makes it very easy on 'Santa'

Re: What does Santa do at your house?

In my home, we spend Christmas eve with the family. Every child gets one present from other family to open on that evening. All other presents, basically are from Santa the next morning. That's the way we save money and keep the silly tradition. I say silly, but's it's my traditition. My child is 13 next month, but Santa will still wrap stuff and put it under the tree. That stuff, mind you, will total around $100.00 and no more. I'm broke, and so, therefore is Santa. LOL! We do what we can. Merrry Christmas to all of you at Allnurses. I love it here. This is the best Christmas gift I ever gave myself.

Re: What does Santa do at your house?

We allow the kids to open one present on Christmas Eve, it used to be a new pillow, a Christmas blanket and a new pair of Christmas PJ's. We realized that the kids only got enjoy the Christmas themed blanket and PJ's for one night so now every year I make Christmas blanket (usually just a simple Christmas print fleece) and buy a new pair of PJ's for each of my kids, wrap them up and let them open them on Thanksgiving night. They always know what it is going to be but they enjoy wearing their pj's and wrapping up in their blankets for the Christmas season. We have maintained the tradition of a new pillow on Christmas Eve though.

Santa also comes during the night and leaves about 10-15 presents for each of the children.

I also decided early on that Santa doesn't get credit for the expensive gifts. He leaves the stocking, filled with goodies and a small gift. No wrapping. Santa's a busy man!
