Good Morning Peeps!! From the NIGHT SHIFT

Well, I'm at work here, my patients are not too bad. We are full, which, to me is a good thing.
Our Hospital was part of a Disaster this early evening. By the time we got here, it was over. A Chicago El train derailed under the Chicago River; It sparked a fire and there were many casulties. Thank God t here were no fatalities, but there were many smoke related injuries. There were a few admissions, but not to our floor--mainly b/c we were all ready full, and there was no one that could be discharged. We did send a nurse down to the triage area.
I saw some people on the news being interviewed & it sounded extremely scary!!

Well, my sis & her family descend upon my DH & myself later today!!
We finally got the house done & if I must say so, it looks really good. I suppose it will look like we never touched it within minutes of there arrival!! They usually just leave there suitcases laying all around, etc.
Oh well. Instead of putting them in the closets & guest room.
Oh well, it will be nice to see them as it's been a few years.
They will stay with us off & on for about 2 weeks.
They have lots of relatives to visit, tho.

I have a hair appt. right after work. and then, last minute grocery shopping.

So how would you guys like some Breakfast???

Here/s a Huge Urn of Freshly brewed Coffee;

Then we have decaff, tea, latte's, milk, soy milk

I'm kind of busy, so I will just offer some lighter items for breakfast;
Some fresh fruit and juice

Some Bagels and cream cheese

Donuts,and sweet rolls

That's about all for today;

Will check back later with you guys.

I wish you all a great day!!
My prayers go out to those who need them.

Renee, I hope you and your family are feeling better.

By the way, has anyone heard from Marilyn about her son and how he is doing???

See you, Guys.

Mary Ann

Re: Wednesday 7/12/06

Good Morning, Mary Ann - and everyone yet to sign in.

When I saw the Good Morning thread I was amazed, wondering why you were starting it so early. Then looked at the clock and can't believe its a half hour past midnight already on the west coast! Where does time fly?

That's awful about the train derailment and fire! Not a place I'd want to be at all. Good for you your floor is full and not being swamped by admits, huh?

Sounds like you and dh are about as excited over having visitors coming for two weeks as I would be. Sorry, but I really think that is far too long to drop in on folks for. Three days should be tops, IMO.

Well, I am still waiting to hear about when I start work. Did the drug screen and now they are doing the background check. Wondering if having to check with Saudi officials (since they wanted to know my addresses for the past seven years, which includes 3 places in Saudi Arabia plus other overseas locations) is gonna hold things up indefinately. Aaaarrrrgghhh!!!

Thanks for the breakfast, Mary Ann. Gonna take some things and save them for the morning. First because I have had a headache since this afternoon, and more importantly because I'm gonna have a beer instead now.

Hope you have a quiet night at work, Mary Ann. And that we all have a great Wednesday, whatever our plans. Cheers!

Re: Wednesday 7/12/06

Greetings from Down Under!
Have been MIA for awhile, and not a lot of time spent on the computer.
Life is back to normal after our big trip Up/over, the routine of every day living is in full swing!
It's been hard to get back into routine after such an incredible adventure. I wanna go back and do it again! lol Weellll, maybe not quite ALL of it! Just the places and things we really loved.

Apart from this cold winter weather, all's fine here in the land Down Under. I'm heading to the outback on the weekend, going to visit my old hometown. A friend and I are going together, it should be great fun.
Hope everyone enjoys their wednesday. Mine is coming to it's close!
Cheers......

Good morning everyone!
Hiya Mary Ann! Enjoy your company. Glad to hear that you finished your intensive house cleaning! I heard about that derailment--glad to hear that all survived!

Good morning Weetzie & Sanctury!
Hiya Grace--hope your Wednesday was a good one!

Off to clinicals this a.m. Only problem is getting my eyes to open and stay open. Coffee tastes good though. Still have to finish getting ready, gather all my thingys to bring and of course, feed the starving beasts who want to get fed earlier and earlier in this morning. Going to be another intensely humid day today and as you know....I hate the humidity!!!!! Ugh. Oh well, it's summer in New England. Can't wait for the fall!

See you later!

Re: Wednesday 7/12/06

Good morning all. Another work day.
Thanks for asking, MaryAnn. Waiting for US results.Think I'll call the MD Thurs or Fri. Then I want to schedule the BX ASAP. Ds is supposed to visit with his dad and other relatives on the 21st. Plane trip is already set up. But he can't go till we work all this out. If the BX is negative, I've got to have a heart to heart with the neurologist to get his Lamictal changed as it can cause lymphadenopathy.
Well, gotta get moving. I'm caring for a 54 y.o. with elderly parents as caregiver who just can't handle caring for their dying son. Gotta be nasty. Prayers said for all that need them. Love ya, Fam.

Good Morning!

I'm off today, don't ask me what I'm doing up so early. Got up to feed the dogs and I'm up for a while, but there's nap in my future. I love naps!

I hope everyone has a nice day.

Will be MIA also; State is in, and all of that ensuing madness and mayhem. Did post some of yesterday's thread....
