Re: Tuesday April 24th

Good afternoon. Just got in from work. Busy time trying to get all the loose ends tied up. I'm now running around trying to get things ready for my trip to NY tomorrow.

My dd loves those design shows. She is majoring in interior design.....I've probably already mentioned that. She is doing an internship this summer with a top designer in LA. So I'm expecting a total make-over when she gets back. HaHaHa

I agree Don...a lot of the others make the room look rather cheap when they are finished. There are some cool ideas but in the long run I almost think a lot of the projects wind up falling apart after they are exposed to a family. I know they would get ruined in my house between the dogs, the cat, my husband and the not so delicate "ME"!

Did you notice how nice out it is starting to get? I took a chance and hung out some blankets to air out. I hope it doesn't rain...
Oh, I do not like her at all!!! She has something about her that is pushy...? I don't know if that's the word I want, but she's a very "my way or no way" kind of person, I think. More than a couple of times, I've seen room re-do's and the owner or the "recipient" says they're going to change it back! That would probably be hurtful, I guess, but at least it's not as bad as "Trading Spaces".

It looks beautiful, but it's quite chilly here. I've been cutting some wood pieces out in the garage and I got cold. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm dressed for summer...!

Re: Tuesday April 24th

Bethin: Burnout is NOT good. It can lead to misteaks. I will never forget what happened to me once. I am an RN. I once worked with an LVN who could "read" her pt so well it was almost scarey. She could tell more about a pt by looking at/talking to him then many nurses could by doing an actual exam but was starting to experiene burnout. One noc, when I went in to do my noc shift at the nursing home I worked at, she gave me report, went to leave then, as an "oh, by the way" she told me I should keep an eye on "so and so." I suspected that this woman had been throwing blood clots for several weeks b/c she kept complaining of leg pain/cramps. Either she told no one else or they didn't listen. No one else charted on this or reported it. Anywho, I immediately went to her room, knew she was in serious trouble and called EMS to take her to the hospital. Just before I was ready to go home the next morning the hospital called to let me know she hadn't made it. That was probably the first, and maybe the only time, I lost my cool with a fellow nurse. I was so mad I could barely talk to her. When I did, I basically accused her of letting her die-she KNEW the woman needed to go to the hospital and all she had to do was call 911. Hearing the news of her death was like a physical blow.

Re: Tuesday April 24th

Hello, all nurses. I see we are chatty group. I haven't been able to get on since Fri. I finished reading the posts for that day and want to thank everyone for their kinds words.

Ok, family, just a quick update on my life. I split up with my dh. I told him he needed to move out instead of making me and kids move out. He told me he wasn't moving-so I did. (We are renting so it wasn't like he was losing anything.) My youngest dd and I are staying with oldest dd-in her Pastor's house with him and his wife. (And a whole bunch of other people. As a friend said-the Pastor and his wife takes in "strays".)Ds (17) said he would move with me because he doesn't really like his dad but now dad is pouring on the attention and ds says he will move with him if he moves. Pastor has an apt he says we can stay in but we have pets. I don't believe it is fair to youngest dd to make her give up her pets in light of everything else. I am now looking for a house. I lost my job last week but can't even look for another job until I have a house. I have no savings but get a partial workcheck tomorrow. That will tide us over for a few weeks or so. Pastor is also paying me a little to do some work for him in the ministry. Dh hasn't made up his mind what he is going to do or if he will move out of state. I still have most of my stuff in the house and need to get it out as quickly as possibe. Not to mention the pets. There is my life in a nutshell. I will try to get back on again before I leave the library. Need to pick up dd from school soon. We are staying in a town about 20 minutes away and I am transporting her back and forth to school-another expense for me. Take it easy. If I don't get back on today not sure when I will get on. Donna

GOOD AFTERNOON, MY LITTLE PEEPS!!

Christy, to your son;

Beth, hang in there!! (((((((((((((BETH)))))))))))))))

Donna, My prayers & thoughts go out to you & your family; I hope you will be able to find a job & house soon; (((((((((((((((DONNA & FAMILY)))))))))))))

I see you all talking about renovations---------I could also use some help getting THIS OLD HOUSE ready for us to sell it!!
This place needs so much work!!!

Just wanted to briefly say hello to every one of you. Since we got home from Texas, I've been kind of down--that's why I haven't been around much!!
Well, I'd better start feeling better, cause it's back to work next week!!

I did hear from our friend, Angie--She's in Nevada, has a job & is doing well. She wanted me to pass that on!!

So, you all have a good day now.

Mary Ann

I'm praying for all 3 of you. Sometimes saying that seems so puny but it's the best thing we can do, to lay it all in God's loving hands.

Well said, compassion. There's no telling what may happen with prayer.
