Re: Tues Jan 09

Hi SUZY! Thanks for sending prayers my way. It's cool here today...in the 50's. I'd like to see some snow before winter is over. Going back to Indy just might make that possible.

KAT - Have you found Mikey yet? He's probably somewhere shaking in his hamster fur at the thought of your cats having him for a meal. Hope you find him safe and sound soon.

MARILYN - pray all goes well at your doctor appointment.

MI'SHELLE - Are you enjoying pharm so far? For some weird reason, I enjoyed pharm. The professor of the class even wrote the book...the one and only book...that we had to study from. Students feared the man. He was rather arrogant/cocky, but very sharp/smart guy...nice AFTER you passed his class. Happy studying!

BETHIN - got cable yet? Soon you'll be all cozy in your new place, and all you'll have to do is keep it clean and enjoy the comforts of your own place...oh...and pay the rent on time.

STEPH - YIKES! A rat anywhere near me sends me screaming! Have fun paint shopping for the little one. What color does he want his room to be? Bet there will be lots of "Spiderman" somewhere in his new bedroom.

TN - Looks like he's grown muscle, too, tn. So ya got some snow falling down there, do ya. I'm jealous. I like snow as long as it doesn't stay too long.

Renee - oh gosh, I just got back from the hardware store . . . .and I'm still lost. His bedroom is now right off the living room -used to be our office. So it can't be painted in "kid's colors" as it would contrast too much with the rest of the house. But I just can't decide - I called my oldest son (on the way to an interview on the freeway in So. Cal) and then my dh while he was driving his logging truck down a slick mountain road . . . .

I brought home a paint sample and painted it wall in different areas . . .

Where is HGTV when you need them???????

I'm sure your son will do great on his interview! What color is in your living room? Perhaps you can paint the bedroom a color that matches the living room color, yet still doable to decorate for a little boy?

This is an old house - built in the 1920's - Craftsman style -sorta. The living room is large and long and has a beautiful ceiling with crown molding/beams. The doors/windows are framed in clear pine - gorgeous wood - which was painted over and which we spent a year removing. So, the colors in the living room need to go with this pretty golden wood . . . we will paint in the living room probably this summer as it has been 5 years since the last time I painted (a variation of white). This is the only room in which we removed paint - the bedroom still has paint on the windows/doors . . so it isn't as warm looking in there. The big picture windows in both rooms have that cool glass that is wavy and there are small windows along the top. I like bold and warm colors for my furniture - and art work.

It is a perfect house for HGTV to renovate.

I'm always on the phone with my kids . . . and dh. What would I do without cell phones?

Re: Tues Jan 09

STEPH - what about painting the living room and the bedroom the same color...perhaps a warm tan...champagne color...or a cranberry color with off white ceilings? Jade is a pretty color...so is deep navy. Okay...that's my two cents for today. The color will come to you when you least expect it to. Go to bed with it on your mind so you can dream about it. You might see the color you are to paint it before you wake up.

Gotta go run an errand. Hope to BBL!

Hey Cheer!! Good to see you!

Cable guy just left. I love being a woman. I flirted and got upgraded at no extra charge to premium!! Now I have ESPN. Thank the heavens. Although, with TV I will probably study less. Actually, I should be studying now. Second day of classes and I have yet to crack a book. Rarely do I crack a book. I go to lecture and pass the tests just fine.

My lit class is at 6p. Thank God it's not Shakespeare lit but Hemmingway, Faulkner, Plath lit which I love those authors and have read every piece of their work.

When are you leaving for Indiana?

Re: Tues Jan 09

Steph, your house sounds beautiful. I'm a sucker for Craftsman houses or any older house. Do you have hardwood floors too?

My dream has always been to take an abandoned old home and completely renovate it. In my small hometown there was a house that sat empty for my entire life. It was built in the early 1800's. My cousin ended up buying it and renovated it. My mom said she didn't keep the original woodwork or orginal anything. Such a shame.

My apt used to be an old schoolhouse and has 12+ foot ceilings with original woodwork. I'd love to pull up the carpet and see what's underneath.
