Possible job, what do y'all think?
|
|
I found a prn position with a travel co that's 2 hrs away. It pays $7 more an hour than my current base pay. Since I can't get hrs on my current job and it's not feasible to formally start a new job this close to graduation, I'm seriously considering it. What would y'all do?

I would seriously not do it.
There are bound to be schedule conflicts and I really wouldn't need the hassle this close to graduating.

She said I can work whenever I want to, which makes it a little more flexible than if I were to get a regular job.

IF they are willing to work with you regarding schedule I say go for it. Make sure and get that in writing though.

2 hour commute one way?
Ouch.
Best of luck, whatever you decide!

I know 2 hours is a lot, but when you compare that with what I'm doing now, at least it's something.

I have a friend at work who has a 2 hour commute each way. She schedules herself 3 days in a row and stays in a Motel 6 for two nights. She loves it and makes more than she would in the little town she lives in even considering paying the hotel bill. She now has friends at work who have offered her to stay overnight with them for nothing. She just started doing just that last week. I couldn't do it on a day by day basis. Think 4 hours added to your shift plus the price of gas. Ouch!
