I remember one upstairs neighbor I had in the 70's. Every Wednesday, he went out to the gay bars and returned @ ~ 3am w/his new friend; they then ran across the bedroom and jumped into bed. I was entertained for the next 1 1/2 hour. I finally switched bedrooms (it was a 2 bedroom apt) so I could sleep! He eventually got evicted.
Once rented a condo. Never met or even saw the couple next door, only saw their car. There was a slight squeak on the stairs, their stairs must have had it too b/c the only sounds I ever heard from them was going up or down the stairs, rarely at that. I don't even know how I knew there were two people living there. About 3 days before I moved out, was visited by a police officer who was doing a background check on my neighbor b/c he had applied for a job. I told him that the guy would probably make a good officer b/c he certainly was a good neighbor; I never heard so much as a loud argument. Oh, that was heaven! Never before, or since, have I ever been in such a quiet living area. That condo was perfect, and those neighbors were perfect.
