OMG...these piccys are just too cute.
I love BIG dogs...the bigger the better.
Gentle giants are right.
In the next town from me there's a cute little village shopping area and i was walking there one day and a lady was walking her Irish Wolfhound. Of course I had to stop and pet him and he stood on his hind legs--taller than me...and I'm 5'11". A real gentle giant.
Of course my 5 cats would not even consider a dog in the house but I've always wanted a bloodhound.
That commercial on TV with the bloodhound and orange cat looking for the litter box kills me!

i think that's why i'm on such a high, rnsc...
that living in a society where youth and physical beauty are revered, i not only totally reject that, but can truly appreciate the beauty in self-revelation.
my dtr is so gorgeous, yet even at 18, she knows what true beauty is all about...
and that our physical shell is only a means of sustaining ourselves.
tiff is already rebelling against the plastic in our society.
and i'm not only referring to recycling, although she does that too.
you need to continue to be yourself and love the person you are from inside out.
once attained, everything else falls into place.

I guess the ewww was a mistake. I was picturing the fifty fairy as a little thing with wrinkles and bent wings ready to grant menopause.
I'm such an ADDer and space cadet that I don't think about my age. I have no kids so no teenager other than Murphy to remind me. The only time its really a problem is when my doc starts harp'n me about being older and needing to take better care of myself or in July when the new Doogies show up looking like high schoolers. Of course I remember high school and 40 something is soooo much better
Just remember all pure breeds have a rescue site, where you can find a beautiful dog who needs a home (some are older puppies) for a minimal cost and the joy of saving a life.
Usually they are in foster homes, so you can find out about personalities and quirks, and get an idea how any given dog would fit into YOUR home.
Just a thought....
Oh so true! We volunteer for a spay/neuter org in my county. We are finally starting to see a reflection of this after 3.5 years. When we moved to Tn. we arrived with 4 horses, Zeke and 4 cats.
Today we have 2 more dogs and 11 cats! All of whom were dumped on our farm. I love each and every one-they are my kids! We also provide horse
rescue for neglected-abused horses. Of course anyone who has their horse taken away does not know where it is taken. It comes to my house-for love, nutrition and proper vet care until we place it with a loving home!
When my parents were looking to adopt an older golden, they put their names in at shelters in their Ohio area. We were living in Fl. at the time so I also put our name in at shelters there. One came available and we flew her to Ohio to live with Mom and Dad. Lucy was about 5 at time. Today she is 14 and a happy, loved dog who got a second chance at life
Leslie, Check out bull mastiff.us/rescue (I think they are in Mass.)
What beautiful mugs they all have....after looking at all of them I feel the need to give Zeke a big wet kiss. I love him soooooooooo much!
