Re: New Avatar

Boxers are THE best family dogs. They are loyal to everyone in the family and know their place is even below the littlest one in the family. I've alway had Boxers and have never ever had a problem with any of them. They are "people" doggies. They want nothing more than to lay their big soft heads on your lap and be pet until your arms are tired and even then they will nudge you to pet more Of course, every boxer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting would like a nice head pet but would much rather climbing into your lap (literally!). they think they are fee-fee dogs!

My babies are a male (Carson who is white with one blue eye and one brown eye) and the female (Echo who is the classic fawn color with a black mask and deep chocolate brown eyes). They are two weeks apart. They are from two different breeders from two different States. My Carson is from Connecticut and Echo hails from Maine. But they have that sibling love-hate relationship. They will fight and sound so ferocous and mean like they are killing each other (they have had a few nasty fights where one comes out with a nice deep scratch that bleeds) but then the spat is over and they are loving licking each others wounds..just like siblings!

Re: New Avatar

Here's Carson and Echo as babies. They are MUCH bigger now LOL

Carson 8 wks old

Carson at about 10 wks old

Echo at 10 wks

About 8 wks old And thats how they sleep now, snuggled up together, just like an old married couple. Hubby and I laugh that the dogs "spoon" and cuddle in "bed" like he and I do.

Leslie, I have a Bull Mastiff! His name is Zeke...all 172 lbs. He is the most loving, gentle, creature. He romps with our horses, loves our 2 other dogs and is friend to the cats and ferrets. Loves children and has the best manners. Mastiffs are known as gentle giants and he is that!
He even has his own daybed in my office that he sleeps on at night. And he does not drool!!!!!

Re: New Avatar

Hey guys...

Just remember all pure breeds have a rescue site, where you can find a beautiful dog who needs a home (some are older puppies) for a minimal cost and the joy of saving a life.

Usually they are in foster homes, so you can find out about personalities and quirks, and get an idea how any given dog would fit into YOUR home.

Just a thought....
