My oncologist did say that cats and certain breeds of dogs (mine included, unfortunately) are more susceptible to kidney disease so ... the fact that cat kidney failure is way up in just the last three months tells me that this carcinogen has got to be a factor ...

And yet another U.S. company has had to recall their food ... there doesn't seem to be any end in sight with the recalls.

Since my baby died of kidney cancer ... I still think they killed him. It's possible that he would have gotten sick anyway but ... this certainly didn't help.

I wish I had cooked my own dog food from the beginning. Maybe my baby would still be alive today. It makes me physically ill to think my baby's suffering could have been prevented.

If I had only known what a scam this was ... I hope all of these companies go bankrupt over this.

I have lost a cat and several dogs over my lifetime and it's truely losing a piece of yourself and of your family. Hang to the thought you will see your precious baby again. (((((((Hugs)))))))

I am so sorry for your family's loss. We lost one of our fur babies this past Fall after an extended illnesses. Some people just don't get that furbabies are just that, our children. We love them just as much as we would love a skin baby and are equally as committed to them. After my baby's death we had alot of his medical bills to deal with so now I have pet insurance. I would recommend you look into it for the future just in case. I use Petsbest now and they are great but there are many out there, another one is VPI. As for food, I think you are doing the right thing for your remaining babies by cooking it. I used to. Now I use Eaglepack Holistic that has no fillers and only human grade ingrediants. Very expensive, but my dogs and cats love it and I don't have to worry about contaminants from china. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel. You did everything you could for your little baby and I'm sure he knows that.

Well ... that's what I was told when we switched food after the recalls first became public. Two vets told us the new food was also safe but now ... THAT food is also under recall ...

So I don't trust any of them. One of my vets is so frustrated with the whole thing that he's now telling all of his clients to cook their own food.

This particular vet doesn't think it was the food recall but, I've been reading that some of the contaminants were carcinogens so ... who knows. If it wasn't the food then ... the timing is uncanny.
