WHOA. About a great American hero. Prepare to cry your eyes out, probably one of the hardest but proudest videos I've seen.

Navy Petty Officer Mike Monsoor

PO2 (EOD2) Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq , giving his life to save his fellow SEALs.

During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego , as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery , SEALs were lined up on both sides of the pallbearers route forming a column of twos, with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin.
The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it. This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero.

Shew... that was difficult to watch. The young hero was Adam's age. May have even gone to bootcamp together. Adam had initially wanted to go into EOD... as a EOD diver , though. But still.. I'm glad it didn't come to pass. This was heartbreaking. For him, and ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the others.. each one.

May they ALL rest in peace.

My God, that was hard to watch.
I had just gotten an email from my uncle about this guy, and now this.
Even harder to watch than the SEALs smacking their tridents into the coffin was his brother ripping out a chunk of hair to leave on the casket. Yeesh. I cannot put myself in the shoes of that family yet. Too hard.

What a tribute, what a hero, what a true brother and friend. He was one who went above and beyond the call of duty. Mikey, you will be rewarded for it in the end.

I'm sorry if I upset anyone w/ that. I just felt that he deserved such honor for what he did - and that family ultimately sacrificing more because they are left behind :*( Yeah, so sad...

It's just so very very sad and I think us mother's of serving sons and daughter's want it all to stop!
We've all had it with the killings, the losses and the sheer bloody mindedness of it all.
