Hope you all have a wonderful day!

A funny to get you started ...

Can Coldwater Clean Dishes?

This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.

John went to visit his 90-year-old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Oregon.

After spending a great evening chatting the night away, John's grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast.

However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, 'Are these plates clean?'

His grandfather replied, 'They're as clean as cold water can get em. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!'

For lunch the old man made hamburgers.

Again, John was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, 'Are you sure these plates are clean?'

Without looking up the old man said, 'I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don't you fret, I don't want to hear another word about it!'

Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather's dog started to growl, and wouldn't let him pass.

John yelled and said, 'Grandpa, your dog won't let me get to my car'.

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted,

'COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN NOW, YAH HEAR ME!!!'

Meet Coldwater.

Morning everyone!

Long day yesterday! Skills test went fine, not even a test really. Was busy all day, and for the first time I had a patient who both needed total care and was incontinent. And just a busy day in general, even the staff was commenting on that. Tiring but I managed. And I had class that evening, but it was pretty much just discussion.

I'm going back there this morning, then I'm going to switch to evenings by next week, which should be easier than days.

It felt good to be busy, doing something practical and physical rather than studying or writing.

Good morning all!!

Working (or not - as the case may be) a very slow night - just a handful of meds.

Work again tonight and we are going to have a pitch in - should be good.

Ready to go home - 20 min until the next shift gets here!

Re: Happy Friday June 20, 2008

Good and Happy Friday Morning to you all,

LOL Diary what is a pitch in? You gotta 'splain these things to this little Aussie lady!

Busy and crazy week in the world of Hospice for me.

Had some interesting and SOME very frustrating times. I had my head bitten off by a Social Worker THEN she hung up on me!! Wow some people can be ummmmmm rather immature. Anyway I have to deal with that in my own time LOL

Did my exercise class last night and had them all huffin' and a puffin'. We did a curcuit class that was multipeaked hahahahahahahaa Heart rate up, then weight work, heart rate up etc.

Going for a nice long bike ride with a bunch of crazyyyy women from work tomorrow morning. We have decided to do this monthly as part of our get fit and socialize routine. I wonder what they will say when I suggest the usual 34 miles that hubby and I would do up there No I will be kind I pwwwomise hahahahahahahahahaa

Finally got hubby to phone the Doctor yesterday and get an antibiotic so I pray he feels better in a day or two. Thankfully we get to see Dr Z next Thursday so we can get ourselves checked up out and over LOL

Dizzy spells seem to have abated for sometime now so that alone is a relief. Still can feel funny in my head at times but that is nothing UNUSUAL for me at all

Well my dearies I need to file my nails and dry da mop before making myself stunningly beauuuudiful for the patients ahead of me today.

When I have time I need to give you a run down on some of my cases. I wonder what the heck I have done wrong to have this kinda case load of ummm shall I say interesting people Darn stretches my patience at times but we get there in the end don't we?

Have a super day, stay safe, smile at everyone, responses are interesting.

Tooooooooooodle allllllllllllllll

Diary, I've never heard it called a pitch-in, either. It's always been a potluck to me.

Zoe, thanks for the morning laugh.

Off to work. Thankfully it's Friday. Since I've started working M-F, Friday has become my favorite day. Escpecially at 5pm. Sometimes I sure do miss working 3 days a week.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning!

I am headed to my place of employment for my last 6-2pm shift of the week. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a good day for everyone involved, since there have been many staffing changes in recent weeks.

Take care, and have a good day!

Re: Happy Friday June 20, 2008

Morning all..TGIF!!!

Another exciting day of rewriting P&P's and getting ready to teach a med aide class..not my usual cuppa tea, but the big boss asked to borrow me, since only RN's can teach it here per our BON.

I could really go for a nice Stage V wound visit right about now, just to remember I'm a nurse and not a paper-pusher!

Did my monthly stint at the free clinic last night, and felt about 2 inches tall. I'd been hoping all day they wouldn't need me, and felt a little disgruntled going over after working all day. Had two staff members and a sweet LOL tell me how wonderful it was that I volunteered, how appreciative everyone was...while I was wishing I could go home. Quite humbling and ...

Prayers to all with health needs--mental or physical

Time to go wash up with "coldwater"
