Happy Wednesday from the "left coast".

Got home about an hour ago - and it is so very smoky here. Dense smoke. Hard to breath. I cannot find any info on a new fire . . we did have thunderstorms last night.

My daughter and I enjoyed the "Bodies Revealed" exhibit. I thought anatomy on two "fresh" cadavers was more . . . um . . . unappealing. This was very well done and interesting . . .although one man did stare right at me . . like a painting with the eyes that follow you.

We had lunch at a Thai/Vietnam place and had sticky rice and mangoes for dessert . . .oh, that was so so good.

I bought my son a bike and we headed up the mountain to where my husband works. Met my #2 son and we all ended up at the "Cotton Candy Diner" for dinner. They brought out a huge strawberry ice cream sundae and the whole restaurant sang "Happy Birthday".

He loved his bike. His brother got him a very large Lego set. Blew out the candles on the cake but we were all too full to cut any. So I brought it home. We will celebrate with the rest of the family this weekend.

That is enough about me . .. . my eyes are burning from the smoke so I'm headed to bed. See you all tomorrow.

I'm at work; Busy nite. I'm Charge. We have 4 blood transfusions right now & one FFP running. We have 2 chemos, also.
At least our staffing is correct tonite & also for the AM.
3 1/2 hrs left. tho/. At least we are full, so no admits@!!@

Good morning Steph and Mary Ann!

Have to work tonight so I need to be going to bed. Not feeling too well, forgot to order my humira so I haven't had my shot for a few weeks and now am paying the price. Hopefully I'll feel better once the pain meds kick in and I get some rest. Kind of a down night, feeling sorry for myself (again!).

Bought my ticket for my trip. I'm not telling anyone where I'm going. Ok, I am telling my best friend but I know she won't tell anyone unless there's an emergency. And I can count on her if something happens to me. My last so called vacation I had to promise to call my mom and or dad twice a day. I can get away now with not talking to my mom for a few days, and I'll only be gone for 4 days so I hope she doesn't notice. All I'm saying is I'm going to have fun.

Morning everyone!

Last night went fine, better than the last weekend. Was going to talk to the unit manager about working one day less per week because of the harder classes, but found out she had already reduced my hours for next month, so I'm set.

Not going to do much today except for some writing for some assignments for class. Have a class tonight.

Alois I'm glad to hear that things are working out for you after struggling so much. And I kind of know the feeling; I never really did well in any of my previous jobs or liked them, so doing well in nursing school is important to me too.

Not much going on today. I'm sooooooo tired. Ds and I may go to see the new baby elephant at the zoo. I also have housework to catch-up on. I wound-up working 40 hours in three nights b/c work was so horrible this weekend. I got pulled on Saturday night and spent the whole thing in p!ss!ng contests with our newest resident turned Hospitalist attending. The man is useless. I'm glad I'll hardly have to deal with him.

Ooooh...a baby elephant! How cute. They're so cute and playful. would love to see it.

No plans for today except get my haircut at 2:30. Hope it doesn't take long cos I'm beat. After work last night, hung out with my friend and 'partied' a bit too much. Glad the humidity has broken here a bit and I can have the windows open for some nice fresh air. Had some wicked thunderstorms and rain....which we needed badly!

Yessir, he's a water rat just like his Momma! We had a great time. Felt soooo good to be out in the sun, fresh air, and water just having FUN.

Here's a few more pics, then I need to work out before it gets too warm. We had the GOOD weather yesterday, though, today is overcast and really quite pleasant temps. Staying home today just to relax, got home by 9 pm last noc in time to put Mutti to bed, then had tons of wash to do today, and some other things to do. Adam and Miki are spending the day with their dad today and trying to get some new tires for his car before they start their 1700 mile trek to Denver. He'll stop by the office tomorrow before they leave out for good. *sniff*
