Hi, all. Got Dd off to his flight to Ct yesterday. My! Is it quiet! No bored teen here. But I miss him already. Just your average Mom here. I'm doing fine. Gotta go to the next county up from me to get to my pt. in the morning- a good hour away from home. Why does six AM come so darn early in the morning? Can't "six AM" slap HIS sleep alarm until I wake up on my own? Oh well. God bless you all real good.

Re: Good Morning July 22, 2006 Sat

Good evening everyone. We went to see Monster House a new kids movie. It was pretty good. Thinking I'm going to be ordering pizza for everyone tonight. I need to go grocery shopping but just not in the mood. The new puppy is doing great. He has decided his place to sleep is burrowed between mine and hubby's pillows. When he gets hot he pops his head out and lays it on top of mine. I guess I'm lucky he doesn't drool.

I'm trying to decide if I should go to school this fall like I planned. I did not get my financial aid stuff done in time so I will have to pay the whole thing. But I want to get that BSN so this would be pre-req's. Hopefully will be starting my first job as an RN this next week.

Good evening!! It is 104 degrees right now at 7 PM........that's too flippin' hot even for me!!

Had a good day though........we had a Western-style "hoedown" party to celebrate my assisted-living community's 4th anniversary, complete with square dancers, pony rides, and a chili cook-off. AND GUESS WHO WON? Yep, I did, with my Chipotle Mania chili con carne. I got a great "CHILI HEAD" apron embroidered with the date and occasion, as well as about fifty requests for the recipe and a very empty chili pot. WOO HOO!!!

After we got everything cleaned up and the facility put back together, it was time to head home and crawl into my backyard pool. That first cool dip washed over me like a blessing.........must've dropped my body temperature about 20 degrees. AHHHHHHHHHHH........now I'm sitting here in front of the 'puter, where it's probably at least 94 degrees, but with the fan going and my damp shirt and shorts, it feels just fine.

Have a good night, everyone!

Re: Good Morning July 22, 2006 Sat

Good night! I leave on vacation Monday morning. Scared as hell for some reason. Not afraid of flying. Today, the balance in my checkbook ends in 666 BUT 2 days before I went to Korea the balance in my checkbook ended in 666 and I was VERY safe in Korea. Mmmmmmmmmm, hot army (ranger?)guy safe. Maybe he was a Marine Force Recon. Heck, I don't remember. What I do remember is those biceps and the 'happy trail'. I'm going to stop now before I get censored. Hoping I get safe like that again on this vacation.

I think I'm just scared 'cause I feel responsible for my mom who has never flown before. I'm trying to get her through that. Mom can turn into a real pain easily for me. She's a worry wart but she worries and nags at the same time. Mulit-tasking she says.

Have a good night!

:Melody:Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen
Warm my mind near your gentle stove
Turn me out and Ill wander baby
Stumblin in the neon groves

Well, your fingers weave quick minarets
Speak in secret alphabets
I light another cigarette
Learn to forget, learn to forget
Learn to forget, learn to forget:Melody:

I spent way too much time today piddling with my website when I should have been studying. I am so good at putting things off. It was a good day though, because I got to have Shipley's for breakfast...yummy!

Alright folks...I'm off to bed.

Re: Good Morning July 22, 2006 Sat

I drove the kids to a friend's house at 3pm. Therm. in the car read

116 degrees.

By the time we got to the friend's house it had dropped to 110 degrees.

As we sat and visited (in the pool or in the a/c house), clouds rolled over, the wind picked up and we heard thunder in the distance.

When I left at 7:15, it was 98 degrees, with a blustery wind. I never thought 98 degrees could feel so delicious!!!

I'm getting stuff ready for tomorrow's drive to San Diego: going to get plastic bags ready w/cut-up bagels, a knife, napkins, hand cleaners and the 7 teens will pass the soft cream cheese between them. (the car seats can be cleaned later ) Individual OJ cartons. We're to meet the other car/kids at 7:00 a.m. Yeeeeee-haaaa!! The kids have been advised to bring their DVDs, so they can watch in the car (my ds told them "DVDs can't have any swearing or sex, or my mom will make us turn them off." LOL! They're good kids, I'm sure the videos they'll bring are OK.

Later!! -- D
