Good morning Allnurses! January 30, 2008

Hi guys, had a busy day today -

Dad's doing well, had his first home health nurse today and feels he will have no trouble w/ his ostomy appliance, is sleeping better (yesterday n/v/diarrhea, poor guy... )

Worked today and then a church supper, then in the church nursery - they are sooooo cute when their parents come to get them ha ha

Re: Good morning Allnurses! January 30, 2008

Hello!

I slept all day today, after working 8 days in a row. I only climbed out of my bed to use the toilet. As a result, my Tuesday felt so unproductive and wasteful. Well, another 50 minutes needs to elapse before it will officially be Wednesday in my area.

I have a job interview early tomorrow morning. The only disappointing thing is that this facility's shifts are arranged on a 4-days-on, 2-days-off schedule. I worked this type of schedule many years ago, and sometimes ended up with a 32-hour work week instead of 40 hours. Even worse, I sometimes got stuck with 2 of these 32-hour weeks in a row, which resulted in a smallish paycheck.

Take care, and have a good day!

Good morning all!

Thank you for starting the GM thread, Zoe!
You're certainly on a roll with the picture and the caffeinated post, lol!!

Hello Jay!
Any news on the house-hunt?

Commuter, good luck with your interview.
I know you REALLY want out of your current position, even though you prefer the hours.
I also know you'll carefully consider the alternatives and weigh well the pros and cons.

I made enchiladas and baked a cake, am just waiting for the cake to cool so I can frost it.
I also hemmed three new scrub pants I bought (yes, I'm short, and I know how to hem, lol!) and repaired a rip in ds's cargo pants (iron-on patch and zigzag stitching over the rip).
I like having sewing or ironing or something to do while I watch AI.

Guess I better hit the hay.

Y'all have a good day!!

Hello - it is almost Wednesday . .. . 31 minutes to go.

The wind is still blowing but the new icicles are not horizontal yet.

This old house gets so cold. And I've got terrible heartburn - and I never get heartburn.

Quiet night here.

Good luck with your job hunt Commuter. Find one you enjoy.

Morning zoe Commuter Jay di DG steph!

zoe
I'm glad to hear that your father seems to be recuperating just fine.

Cold and windy around here, as I'm getting reading for clinicals today, the first time that we won't be working in pairs. Should be interesting, I think I'm getting the hang of it all (and I've gotten really good at care plans). Not planning to do much else afterwards, just some studying for the tests Thurs and Sat, though I feel pretty ready for both. Busy week, and I'll be glad when Sunday finally comes.

Good morning!

Commuter, hope your interview goes well. What area are you interviewing in?

I have an 8am class but my car doors will not open. Won't budge an inch. I'd walk but my class is not at the main campus, but across town with no bus service. And I'm not paying for a taxi either, not in rush hour traffic. Tornado reported a mile from my apt. This was at 7p. By 9p it was snowing. Only in Indiana. I was cussing up a storm trying to get the door open. The whole time I'm figuring out if my checking account will take me to Florida.

I really need to go to Borders. I don't need anything but I have a list of books I just gotta have. Ok, I don't have to have them but I've been really stressed lately and Borders is my refuge. I picked up an application and thinking about applying. I just want that employee discount.

Cute story my db told me: my youngest nieces who are now 10 months old and crawling got into the pantry. Db left the room to put a load of laundry in and when he returned he found them sitting in the pantry, cookie crumbs strewn around them. My mom had taken him cookies and had put them in a ziploc bag. Someone had left the pantry door open and they took the first opportunity to eat them. There were ~25 cookies in the bag and there were no survivors. He said it was in their hair, on their feet, in their noses, etc. He was quite thankful they didn't decide to put their little heads inside the bag.

Have a great day!

Yikes, Bethin! Glad I am out of there - but then, I have a garage so that helps with being able to get into it every morning.

It's about time to get started on 6 AM stuff - Gotta stay over for my physical - blech. At least I will get a free TB test out of it......
