When I think of all the foods I used to deep-fry...........and in butter-flavored Crisco, no less!! It's a wonder our arteries aren't completely loaded with that gunk.

Funny how gallbladder trouble changes your perspective on eating greasy stuff.
But I never even
thought of frying Coke, ice cream, turkeys, or Twinkies (fried ice cream just does not compute in my simple brain). YUCKA!!! I still enjoy the occasional beer-batter fish-and-chips basket, but the emphasis is on "occasional"........and I don't even own a deep-fryer anymore. The only fats we use in cooking are olive and canola oils (and a single quart bottle of canola lasts us at least a month). We don't eat anywhere as healthfully as we should, but I think our hearts will give us a few Brownie points for cutting way back on the fatty stuff.......and in the meantime, we won't be trying any deep-fried candy bars or soda, thank you very much.
