Very interesting (and tiring!) day today, spent at the Anaheim Convention Center, at NAMM.
Huge gathering of music merchants of ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL sorts!
Instruments (all kinds: winds, electrics, acoustics)
Sound equipment (microphones, amps, etc)
Insurance
Marketing
Woods (for the luthiers)
Supplies (cases, knobs, tuners, pick guards, picks, etc)
Kind of a "what's new and what our business features in the music industry" convention.
Oh, my goodness!! Lots of fun!
All different genres, and vendors from all over the US, Spain, Germany, South Korea, China, Japan, even Australia (Aboriginal Folk Art booth, from Sydney)!!
I was surprised at the number of booths featuring UKELELES!!
Some from Japan, some from Hawaii . . .
Lovely, GORGEOUS acoustic and electric guitars, banjos, mandolins, resonator guitars, etc etc!
Dh fell in love with a Cello-banjo, with its deep, resonant notes.
We got visitor passes from a friend of dh's, whom he met on the web.
Nice guy.
We had a good time walking around, seeing the ELABORATE and HUGE booths, playing some instruments, hearing others being played (we heard two GREAT impromptu gypsy jazz sets . . .)
We even saw half a dozen familiar faces (from bluegrass festivals/jams)!
Our youngest ds and his friend N went too.
Tomorrow our oldest will go as well. I think he'll enjoy it!
We'll be there (and at Disneyland, across the street

) tomorrow and prolly Sunday.
Stay safe in the snow, all affected!
Have a good day!
