Earthquake!!

I went to bed at 9 pm last noc due to being exhausted! I was rudely awaken at 0536 AM by the windows rattling and my bed shaking!!

I thought that the wind was going to blow the windows out. I also thought that my kids were shaking the bed.

It registered 5.4 and was felt from Vincennes, Indiana to Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and St Louis!!

I know that to the people who live in California, this is a very small quake, but to those of us in the Mid West this is a BIG quake!!

I can say that it was very NOISY!!

That's ok. I was singing "All Shook Up" as I was typing the first thread!

Re: Earthquake!!

I was sleeping at the time and missed it.

I did feel a smaller earthquake when I was in southern Illinois years ago. Heard it more than felt it.

I live in central IL and yep, woke us up - things rattling around, especially the mirrors. The dogs started barking too.

5.4?

*pshaw* That's nuthin'!

Quakes can be scary. You never know how bad it's going to be until it stops and you realize it's over.

Re: Earthquake!!

Karen, I immediately thought of you.

I was in a pt's room and a cup of water fell on the floor. Little unerving having several floors above you - especially since my biggest fear is being trapped in a subway during an earthquake.

I read in the newspaper that California is way overdue for a big one . . . I live in far Northern CA.
