Boston Berklee College of Music?

:Melody: Does anyone have any info re: this school. My ds is a HS Junior and we are planning to visit Berklee this coming Tuesday/Wednesday. I'd like to hear any opinions, any thing we "have to" see while we are there, any advice what so ever. I'm not very familiar with the area. Thanks!

I don't know anything about the Boston area, but I'm a trained classical musician in addition to being a nurse and can tell you that the Berklee School is considered one of the handful of top music programs in the US. It would be a big deal for your son to get accepted.

Good luck!

Re: Boston Berklee College of Music?

Thanks for the response, Elkpark. What do you play? My son is a percussionist, has played Marching Band Pit/ Bass drum/snare drum (competitions) for three years, Winter Percussion competitions snare last year, tenors this year, and now playing tympanies for spring concert. He is taking keyboard and guitar lessons privately. I don't understand where his talent and interest came from, it's all so foreign to me. He was inducted in the National Music Honor Society as a sophomore, too. It's all to me.

You must be the ultimate mom! You have a clue! OK, send him up there for a summer program and see how he responds: http://www.berklee.edu/summer/
