Well...I am no longer just annoyed with her, I am furious. There are signs all over the hotel remininding not to smoke in the non-smoking rooms. There is a sign in the bathroom of each non-smoking room that says they will charge your credit card $100 (to deep clean the room) if they find out you smoked in the room. I'm about 99% sure that she didn't smoke in the room, but the maids found cigarette butts in the toilet, so my credit card has been charged $100. They charged my card because she paid cash for everything and I put supper in the hotel restaurant on my card one night...the only card number they had.
So...our corporate people are going to go to bat for us to see if they can get the $100 taken off since she didn't smoke in the room but just put the butts in the toilet. (She smokes outside then puts the butts in her purse if there isn't a trash can or butt can nearby). When I told her about the extra charge she informed me that it is my problem, not hers and that since she knows she didn't smoke, that the $100 is not her responsibility.
I made it very clear to my administrator yesterday that I am NEVER rooming with her again.

Unbelievable. That is the ultimate in laziness. It drives me crazy when anyone puts tissue etc in the toilet and then doesn't flush after themselves.

This person sounds totally selfish and ignorant..not a criticism, a fact from everything youve said.
you should not have to pay the $$.
since your boss is aware; maybe she will insist the other party pay.
at least she has proven why you should have a private room!

Since corporate had you rooming together, corporate shouldn't just go to bat for you, they should reimburse you, then get the money from her!
No one else should have to room with her, either, after this, and she should have to pay the difference.

Well...the corporate guy must have worked his magic because the charge is off my card. I still have to pay extra if I insist on a private room, but I have been assured that I will not have to room with her again. If I choose not to pay the extra $$$, they will just pair me up with somone else in the corporation.

Well I'm not surprised that more evidence of this person's selfishness turned up. Glad to hear that you're no longer forced to room with her. Let her habits bother someone else.
