WWFD!?!?!? what would flo do?

So I am a school nurse and this will be my first summer off!!! since I was in school. I am really excited, I like my job well enough. The hours ROCK!

But I get paid for what I do...Not near what I am worth, but for what I do (most days...some days are difficult).

so I have been looking and found a case management job that I was offered and in 6 mon to 1 year could work from home, but until then need to travel about 1 hour to work. The pay would be about double what i get paid now and I woud still not have to work weekends, nights, or major holidays.

Any pros/cons come to mind...that I may not have thought abouT?!!
Your help would be very much appricated!

& What would you do?

Thanks!
my mind is spinning!

Go for it. I have just convinced my manager to allow me to work from home two days a week, and I love it. The six month commute will be a drag, but I think you'll enjoy Case Management. I do.

Re: WWFD!?!?!? what would flo do?

If the job pans out then you're good, if it doesn't then can you readily go back to school nursing? The hour travel time is another to take into consideration. With gas prices continuing to climb, you'll eat up a good chunk of your first year's salary unless you have a gas saver for a vehicle. What type of case management position is it? Medical, workmen's comp, geriatric, psychiatric, etc.? Will it be the type of case management you can stick with through thick or thin? How much orientation and training will you receive? What will your case load be? Once you work from home, will you be expected to increase your productivity e.g. working longer hours? How will your case load be handled when you take time off? These are just some of the questions I'd think about going into a case management position. I'm certain other CMs can provide you with more food for thought.
