Thumbs up Re: Work from home Case Management/UR

hello all from NC,
the best way to get into CM and work from home is to apply to companys (national ones) for a field case managment position. The is one that will allow yuo to work as an independent in the states they hire "affiliates" . Yu work for them as an affiliate (subcontractor), this is an up and comming thing. Field CM positions allow you to have the ability and flexibiltiy to work from home and utilize your nursing experience while in the field with clients. The autonomy is awesome and the flexibilty is great. Yuo need discipline with a home office. Been doing it for 5 years now Love it !!! You get appreciation, bonus' and you are autonomus , use your knowledge daily and no 2 days are ever the same, challenges and never get bored...and no "watercooler " or "cubby" gossip , it is awesome. It is hard work though.. have to be a multitasker... but it can be very rewarding and lucrative

Re: Work from home Case Management/UR

Seems like they would need case managers for old folks/geriatrics...I've got a lot of experience with that.
Me and the old man realized tonight I cannot work away from home. I've GOT to find something to do at home.

I would love to break into case management! What companies do I check out? I am in the Raleigh area. I am just now starting that resume process. A work at home job would be absolutely perfect. I have 3 kids in school and they all have different schedules (some year round, some traditional.) Advice would really help at this point!! I loved the SICU (We did neuro, cardiac, vascular, trauma, you name it,...) Thanks for any info you can share!!

Could you share with us any specific companies that offer the opportunity that you've described here-working as an affiliate? I see many posting on this forum but none specific regarding where to apply, and I'm very interested in breaking into case management. I have a BSN and 17+ years of well-rounded experience, so I feel that I have the background necesssary, but just need to know that next step. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
