what are we coming to?

I would like to hear from other nurses about their thoughts on how we provide health care in the U.S. I'd really like to hear from nurses from other countries too about how health care is provided there.

It is abhorent that people living in one of the prosperous countries in the world cannot access needed care because of lack financial resources; and that people who have managed to save some money in their lives of hard work can be financially wiped out by paying for health care; that the "working poor" go without unless their condition is dreadly severe.

I believe that FOR PROFIT must be taken out of the health care system. Health care cannot be market-driven.

Please respond, use your first name and place of domicile. Thanks!!!
