Help for Case Management Certification

I took last Case Management Certification test, on November 2007. I studied the Fattorusso book , second edition -page by page and question by question-, plus "Core Curriculum for Case Management" by Suzanne K. Powell, over 3 months. Guess what!! I did not pass for just 3 questions. This test was not related at all with any of these books. Obviously they help, but the questions were long and confused. The answers were too close to know which one they wanted us to answer ( I do not mean the right one because there were more than one correct). It helped me more my own experience than the books. I feel frustrated and disoriented.
Could anybody give me some tips for next time!? Thank you

Re: Help for Case Management Certication

I took the test in 2005. The first time I took it I only studied a book by Mullahay(? spelling) and failed it. The second time I took it, I had ordered the 900 question CD and studied it. I passed. I don't think that I went wrong in paying the two hundred and something dollars for it. Having CCM does help open doors with some companies.

I think Mullahy's book is a good resource...but definitely not the only book to use. I agree that practice questions are essential. They are helpful in refining the areas that you need to spend extra time studying. I also used the internet to look up all the various laws that pertain to Case Management, and also the Medicare Website. Knowing the glossary on the CCMC website is also important....I made flashcards of all the unfamiliar terms.

Which CD was it, name of the company or website? I take the next exam in April. Using the same book the poster spoke of. It also came with a CD too, essentially study questions from the book. Thanks!
