Hello,
I am slowly learning the primary focus of my case management department is discharge planning - our utilization review is completed by a separate group of nurses. I do, however, have a strong interest in learning the U.R. part of my job and I believe you can't do one without the other. My concern is that educational opportunities to learn this are limited at my current place of employment and I was wondering are there any courses or reference materials I can use to teach myself U.R.? I am also interested in DRG coding and have found, rather expensive, courses on this but are there any other suggestions?
