Peritoneal dialysis

In my unit our child sometimes need, in pos op, to be submitted to peritoneal dialysis.
We usually made hourly cycles: a period to fluid in, a period to fluid stay in abdomen and the period of liquid drainage.

My question:

When you need to do a ABG (with ionogram) in these child, you do that in which period? If we made the ABG during the 2nd stage, the results can be altered?

In my practice i don't find any alterations in results namely in ionogram!!

We don't have any set time in our PD cycle to draw our ABGs. We do them at ordered intervals at standard times, and prn. We don't see any real difference in results either.
