Hello. We are considering putting together an extern program for our PICU and are interested in getting some feedback from other hospitals that already have a similar program up and running. By "extern" i mean- a paid position for people who are entering their last year of nursing school and are interested in going into PICU nursing upon graduation. Many of the units in our hospital have similar programs but since the PICU is a unique environment, I was hoping to get some insight from other hospitals on how they structure their programs.
