Question Children's Medical Center in Dallas

Does anyone work at Children's Medical Center in Dallas? I'm considering a move in that direction and would appreciate some words of wisdom.

I'd like some personal accounts regarding Children's also. I'd love any info....it is kind of hard to get an unbiased opinion from the hospital itself!

I'm glad someone finally posted on this. To be honest, I'd forgotten all about this board. My internet time has fallen to zip. I went and checked out the trauma unit at Children's Medical Center. It was nice, very modern and they have big plans, but I left with a strange feeling. Not the most friendly bunch I've ever spoken with. Of course, I may have caught them on a bad day, lord knows that can happen. Now I'm back in Okla City at Children's Hospital, and very happy. These are the greatest group of nurses I've ever had the privilege to work with. And the cardiac surgeon is one of a kind. Glad I remembered this board, might start spending some down time in here.

I was in Texas until 2 weeks ago, working in the Gainesville Hospital ER. Interesting place.

I live in a suburb of Dallas and have worked as an RN in this area for a number of years. Dallas Childrens has a fantastic reputation and if you are fortunate enough to work there I would highly recommend it.

I've spoken with several people who have worked at Dallas Childrens, although not in the PICU, and they say good things about it. But not good enough to get me to move back from oklahoma. This group is like family to me. Life is short, go where you're happy.
