Putting tele on low and high K+ lab value??

What is the lowest value and the highest value is best to start to place a patient on tele when their potassium becomes out of balance?

How about their magnesium?

Depends on the doc, some of our's put telementry on every admission while others will put on tel only if the K+ level is < 3.0 or > 5.0.

mag anything less than 1.7. hearts, in my experience, seem to get real irritable with mags less than that.

We typically have everybody admitted with tele on admission. Usually for the first 24 hours and then will make the decision whether they need it or not. Every bed is tele capable.
