I am almost an RN. I start my preceptor work in a few days on a cardiac step-down unit. I prepared a list of personal objectives, but my instructor told me that they are too broad. I am really interested in cardiac nursing and desperately want to do well during my preceptorship. My problem is this--how do I know what I should learn? I don't want to sound stupid, but I was hoping that some of you would give me some sound advice. What skills will benefit me the most? My preceptor is very knowledgeable and I want to learn as much as I can from her. Does anyone have any suggestions?
