Don't get too scared...lol. Your hospital should be including Telemetry teaching in your orientation. I would be surprised if they allow you to work in Telemetry without it.

This website will help you get started. Good luck!

randylarson.com as noted above is the bomb.

There are a lot of books and courses you can take to learn and improve EKG skills. Every three or four years I take another course as a refresher.

Here's a good course http://www.rnceus.com/course_frame.a...&directory=ekg that I didn't take, but that I used to study because it gives the interventions, and on our tele unit we are tested on the interventions.

Good luck!

3rdShiftGuy & Lgflamini -- thanks much for posting those sites. I have clinicals on a telemetry unit this week and next week, and those were very helpful to take a peek at.

No problem! Just take it 1 step at a time, and you'll be fine. I remember how scared I was before I got the cert. It's not as hard as it looks- usually...lol. I still have a strip every now and then that I send down to CCU for clarification.

Dale Dubin has a “see Dick run’ style book on how to learn 12 lead interpretation.
