Anyone here have any good information about LVAD's or any links to good info on the web??

I am a pre-nursing student/CNA student, interested in Cardio nursing. But my question is more personal... my father was just told he needs an LVAD, so I'm doing my own research.

Try www.heartcenteronline.com

They have teaching information regarding the LVAD. I used to work in a unit where we had many patients on them. Fascinating piece of technology

Cardio, (or whomever else)
This may or may not be the place to ask so if it isn't, I apologise.

Does anyone know what the "average" wait for a heart transplant is?? I know it varies based on blood type, age, health and a ton of other things! But I'm curious if there is even an average?

Also,

I am an LVAD coordinator for a large transplant program.
I'd be happy to answer your Qs if you want to e-mail me.
