Hi.

I am a new nurse who just began working on the telemetry floor on my own in January . I have a brain that I have used to put my information on but it is not working the way that I would like. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to make a good information collecting sheet?

What I did was take a blank sheet of paper to work everyday for the first few weeks. I kept a few of those and made my "brain" paper. Its got plenty of room to write extra things. I think overall it depends on how you get organized and your particular routines for your floor; each hospital is a bit different. Another thing I do is print my MARs at the beginning of my shift and then I have my own system for charting on those meds, based on the MARs I print, so my brain paper doesn't have a place for meds, unless I am making notes on a prn.
