CHF teaching presentation

Hello!
I have to give a 15 minute presentation about CHF next week, and I was wondering if any of you had any advice on what to include and how to present the material. Powerpoint is not an option, but handouts and visuals are required. I appreciate any advice you have to offer. I am probably the least creative person I know!
Thanks!!

Re: CHF teaching presentation

I'd keep it simple and start off with s/sx's of CHF...

Re: CHF teaching presentation

Teach them the importance of daily weights and how this simple measure may avoid hospitalizations.

Re: CHF teaching presentation

who is your audience?

i think the material that you present will largely depend on who your audience is, what they already know in regards to CHF, and what they might be interested in.

for example- nursing students may appreciate the ins and outs of the patho regarding chf, but seasoned RNs may want to hear more about core measures and advances in CHF tx.

hope this helps!

Re: CHF teaching presentation

I would say first focus on basics of CHF (what is happening in the body, signs/symptoms, etc., medications used to treat). Then patient teaching to prevent hospitalization (daily weights, diet, medications, signs and symptoms to report to MD, etc.). Then inpatient treatment of CHF (most hospitals have "core measures" for CHF).

Re: CHF teaching presentation

I will start with a concept map that starts with
1. The etiology or cause or Patho
2. Types of CHF
3. Signs and symptoms
4. Treatments and management
Any other info will do after you discuss your map, then request for questions and answer them. This sounds like fun, you may be the only authority to speak on this subject at this time for some of the people in your audience, so break a leg!!!!!!!
