Just curious. I currently live in FL and everyone is very laid back here. I used to work in corporate before I switched careers to nursing and people would come in with a skirt and top or guys would come in with pants and shirt but no tie or blazer.
On top of that, one of my teachers said to wear a nice pair of scrubs to the interview so they can "envision" you working there as a nurse. I think that's WRONG but is it? I have interviews scheduled for next week and I'm a new grad.. thanks
I always wear something professional. I use to be a secretary before nursing school, so I usually wear somethng that I would wear in a professional business environment. Besides, it is a chance to get out of the scrubs and look good.
I wore a skirt and nice blouse, hose, pumps. If it was cold, I wore a jacket that matched. I usually got a good response. It shows respect for the people you are interviewing with.
Since I don't fit into my business suits anymore (from all the weight I gained during nursing school!) I'm planning on wearing either black pants or a black skirt with a nice blouse.
Definately not scrubs. I would wear a nice pair of dress pants and a blouse or something along those lines. Business Casual I believe is a good way to go. Good Luck.
Suit. If it's really hot out, nice blouse, dress pants, dress shoes. Make up, hair done, clean nails. Look professional. It's always better to dress up than to dress down. Never wear scrubs.
I've always worn a business suit. I have two, one in biggie size, one in regular size, for whatever end of the weight spectrum I happen to be on at the time.
