Re: trying to go back

Welcome to Allnurses.

Your best bet would be to talk to an acedemic advisor in person at the nursing school. They can tell you what to do. It varies from school to school what the pre-reqs are, what entrance exams you have to take, etc.

It's going to be a long process, but with willpower and determination you can do it! Good luck!

Re: trying to go back

Kuddos to you for wishing to start a new career with the current challenges you are experiencing!! Like Tweety said, speak to a career advisor and get guidance from there.

My suggestion is to look at yourself and see if you have weaknesses in certain areas such as math, science, or reading and start out with either continuing education or remedial classes to brush up. Many of these programs are very competitive and have entrance exams. I, for one, am horrible with math. Taking those classes helped me a great deal. Good luck and kiss your son for me. I remember reading about Tetralogy of Fallot in the pediatric portion of my program. I was totally fascinated by this subject and often wondered about the impact that condition was for the parents. Good luck!
