Uh .. No.
In California we have a thing called the ratio law, where hospitals can typically only assign five patients per nurse.
It pretty much doubled the demand for nurses overnight. Instead of a previous projected shortage of 40,000 nurses by 2010, the state now estimates there will be 100,000 vacancies ... mostly because of the ratio law.
I live in SoCal and attend a small community college. Recruiters are offering cars, down payments on houses, errand services to do your grocery shopping ... all kinds of wacky things. No signs of a softening job market here.
The only problem you would have out here is if you attended Excelsior College (which is based in NY), which the state no longer accepts. Other than that, as long as your school meets the BON's cirrculum requirements, you should be fine.
